Reflecting on Your Experience Abroad | October 26th – 30th

  • Unpacking Your Experience: A Reflection of Your Time Abroad
Thursday, October 29 at 4:00pm EST

This workshop is a facilitated dialogue to prompt an intentional analysis and reflection of your study abroad experience. Forge a deeper understanding of the connections, complexities, opportunities and impact of your study abroad experience as they connect to our global community as well as your future goals. Unpack your time abroad (good and bad), disruptions due COVID-19, and the skills you have developed and enhanced. Gather photos and/or memorabilia from your time overseas to share as we wrap up global ROCtober’s month-long series of events and workshops!

We invite you to consider some of the following conversations before we discuss…

o   Before study abroad, I… and After study abroad I….  #BeforeandAfterSA (This is especially timely with the social media trending right now “How it started” and “How it’s going” or “How it ended”. We could even do that instead if we wanted to capitalize on that. Students would have to post a picture, “How study abroad started.” And “How study abroad ended.”)

o   Three things I learned about myself on SA….

o   One way I’m still living my SA experience…

o   Show and tell! Share a picture of your favorite study abroad souvenir.
